Supervision in Metacognitive Therapy (MCT)

For psychologists, clinicians and other professionals working with metacognitive therapy, or looking to sharpen their skills

My approach

When I supervise, I care about creating a space where you feel safe to be open about what you're uncertain about, while also being genuinely challenged and growing professionally.

Whether it's a specific case you feel stuck on, a particular MCT technique you want to get more comfortable with, a topic you'd like to explore further, or your own role as a clinician, we dive into it together. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling more confident and competent in your practice.

What We Can Work On

Supervision is always tailored to you and your needs. It might be case work, where you bring a specific case and we look at how to move forward with your client. It might be skills training in specific MCT techniques, such as detached mindfulness, attention training, and challenging metacognitive beliefs, so you feel more confident using them. It might be reflection on your own development as a clinician: your patterns, your strengths, what you'd like to work on. It can also include role-play, where you get to practice using MCT and refine your skills in a safe setting.

I offer both individual and group supervision online, and in-person in Copenhagen by arrangement.

Note: Supervision cannot replace foundational training in Metacognitive Therapy at the MCT-Institute.

Areas I Have Experience With

My clinical work and supervision cover a wide range of presenting problems. Over the years I have worked with clients from many different countries and cultural backgrounds, and have particular experience with:

  • Anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, performance anxiety and more)

  • OCD

  • Depression

  • PTSD

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Stress-related concerns

  • Chronic pain

  • Grief and loss

If your case falls outside this list, you are still very welcome to reach out. MCT is effective across a wide range of problems, and I'd be happy to explore whether I'm the right supervisor for you.

“Michelle is an exceptional supervisor. She has a deep knowledge of MCT and creates a space with high expertise, useful sparring, and meaningful reflection. My sessions with her have been incredibly valuable — I've gained new perspectives, honest feedback, and always left feeling like I could actually use what we discussed. I highly recommend her.
